Outing – Royal Winter Fair

Royal Winter Fair

On Saturday, November 15, a small group of 5 MCC members participated in an outing to the Royal Winter Fair. We all managed to meet on the GO train, each getting on at a different stop. At Exhibition Station, we headed to the Coliseum and spent a few hours wandering through the Royal Winter Fair. For some it was a first-time visit, others recalled going as a child, and only one was a recent visitor to the fair. Our first stop was at the youth horse riding trials. We also enjoyed the dog show and then wandered through the animal stalls – so many photographic opportunities. We enjoyed a rest and a bite to eat, before heading back home on the GO. The overall feeling of the group was we would like to go back again – now that we know which shows to attend and where to sit/stand for great photo opportunities. There was also lots of discussion and sharing of ideas about the challenge the lighting in the building presented for photographers. We’ll be back! Thanks to Liz McNally, a first-time fair goer, for leading the outing.
