Workshop: Slideshows – Ursula Tweddle

Topic: AV / Slideshow Workshop

Presenter: Ursula Tweddle

Date: November 9, 2019

This workshop will focus on how to develop an AudioVisual (AV) presentation, the new term coined by the OCCC to replace what we generally called a “slideshow”.
We won’t examine how to use specific software but look at how to enhance your storytelling theory and techniques as well as best practices in creating a presentation. There will be AV examples for demonstrations, critiquing and discussion. It will cover the guidelines that OCCC judges will now use to judge AV presentations: quality, production, purpose and audience appeal.
It will also cover the dilemma of which comes first: the music or the images as well as some suggestions on how to separate audio from video and where to find music that doesn’t infringe on copyright.
Some other tips and tricks we will cover are how to combine still images with video, how to insert vertical phone videos into a landscape AV presentation in order to eliminate the black spaces, keyframing, titling, plug-ins, color matching, special effects and how to create a project instead of just rendering, etc. There will definitely be a section on the correct usage of Ken Burns and transition features.
If you have a specific topic of interest, please email the presenter, after you have registered for this workshop so it can be potentially included.
