CAPA

We are a member of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art. CAPA’s mission is to foster a vibrant and inclusive community that promotes ethical practices and advances the art of photography for all skill levels. They inspire and empower photographers to tell meaningful visual stories through creativity, education and community.

Competitions

CAPA has regular competitions, and since MCC as a member, anyone of us can enter.

Lori Metcalfe will be keeping us informed of upcoming competitions. She will be contacting individual members if she thinks that a member’s image would do well, and if they wish, will assist them to enter a competition. More to follow as Lori familiarizes herself with the CAPA process.

CAPA has published information about competitions on their website, and a good place to start is the Ontario Zone Competition.

Newsletter

This publication is posted on their website and is accessible to the public. A new edition is available each month, and back issues are also available.

Magazine

CAPA issues 4 magazines a year and MCC members have access to read these magazines online. The newest magazine and back issues up to 2023 are up on the club’s website. To access the issues, login with your userid and password and once logged in look for the heading Magazine. Click on Magazine and the most recent issue will be at the top followed by all the back issues. These magazines are really well done and the printed image quality is beautiful. The club would like to thank Kevin White for putting these on the club’s website.

These magazines are only accessible to CAPA members, so please do not distribute any of the editions to non-MCC club members.
